Christopher Baity, President
U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran Christopher Baity’s journey to success began in 9th grade when he joined MCJROTC, igniting his passion for working with military dogs. After boot camp, he trained as a Military Police officer and became a Marine Corps Military Working Dog (MWD) Handler. Chris later had the honor of attending the Israeli Defense Force's Oketz Dog School, sharpening his skills and becoming an advanced dog trainer. His military career included multiple deployments and prestigious roles, including being named ‘Top Dog’ at MWD Handler school and serving as a Regional Kennel Master and SSD Team Leader.

After transitioning to civilian life, Chris struggled with post-traumatic stress, but his desire to continue serving led to the creation of Semper K9 in 2014. With his wife, Amanda, they founded the organization to rescue dogs and train them as service animals for veterans at no cost. Semper K9 has maintained a 100% success rate, providing hope and healing to those who served.

Chris has been recognized for his service and dedication, receiving awards such as the Red Bandanna Hero and being named a Washingtonian of the Year. He is now a proud father of five, with the oldest serving in the U.S. Army.
